Buying a second hand sewing machine

Thought this would be helpful blog for any sewing newbies.  I’ve had a couple of customers in recently for 1:2:1 classes who have bought sewing machines in charity shops or second hand.

Unfortunately, some parts have been missing so they haven’t been able to use the machines they bought. They should be able to find the pieces on eBay or similar. But that makes your bargain purchase a bit of a pricey one.
So, if you are tempted to buy a charity shop/second hand machine make sure all the major pieces are included, have a look at our handy guide so you know what to look for.

Guide to Buying a Second Hand

We offer 1:2:1 classes on how to use your machine, from how to thread it, what all the setting means, how to change sewing feet and needles.  Contact us to get more information.
